Itinerary
Discover the breathtaking landscapes and beautiful towns of the Punilla Valley in the north of Argentina on this Punilla Valley tour. We set off from the city of Córdoba, taking Provincial Route E-55, and soon reach La Calera, one of the oldest towns in the province. Here we admire the imposing Hydroelectric Power Plant before continuing to the San Roque Dam, where the massive wall and sweeping views remind us why this is one of the most important engineering works in Córdoba and the oldest reservoir in the province. The road then carries us through Bialet Massé and Santa María de Punilla, until we arrive in Cosquín, the National Capital of Folklore. Music and culture fill every corner of this lively mountain city, and it’s impossible not to feel the energy of its traditions. From there, we pass through Valle Hermoso and reach La Falda, where Edén Avenue welcomes us with its history, charm, and bustling shopping center.
Our path winds through Huerta Grande and Villa Giardino, peaceful towns framed by dreamy landscapes, before we arrive in Capilla del Monte. Here, the mysterious Cerro Uritorco rises in the distance, a mountain surrounded by stories of mysticism and energy. In town, we explore the shaded Calle Techada, the curious rock formations at the El Zapato Complex, and the scenic El Cajón Dam. The journey continues to Los Cocos, where anyone seeking a thrill can take the famous Aerosilla chairlift for panoramic views of the mountains. Moving on, we pass through Cruz Grande and Cruz Chica before reaching La Cumbre, a town of elegant European-style mansions that recall times of refinement and tradition.
Finally, we arrive at Villa Carlos Paz, the vibrant tourist heart of Córdoba. Here, the lake, the mountains, the shows, and the lively nightlife come together to create an atmosphere that feels both exciting and welcoming. After soaking it all in, we return to Córdoba by highway, with round-trip transfers from your accommodation and the company of a Spanish-speaking guide, bringing back lasting memories of an unforgettable adventure through the Punilla Valley.
