Itinerary

Start your beautiful day early with a comfortable ride from Paris to Versailles in an air-conditioned coach. The journey takes about 45 minutes. As you travel, your guide will begin telling you interesting stories about the history of Versailles, so you already feel connected to the place before you even arrive. When you reach the Palace of Versailles, you will not have to wait in long lines, because your guide will take you straight inside with special skip-the-line access.

The Palace of Versailles is a huge and beautiful building, once home to three kings of France—Louis XIV, Louis XV, and Louis XVI. It has more than 700 rooms! You will walk through the King’s Apartments, where each room is decorated in honor of a different god, and then into the Queen’s Apartments, including the room where Queen Marie Antoinette once slept. You will also visit the famous Hall of Mirrors, a huge room full of light and beauty, designed to impress guests. Your guide will explain everything using headsets, so you can hear clearly even in large rooms.

After this, you will have time to enjoy the beautiful gardens outside. These gardens are filled with fountains, statues, flowers, and trees. You can walk around at your own pace, take photos, and relax. For lunch, you can enjoy a meal at a nice restaurant near the Grand Canal inside the garden area. In the afternoon, you will explore more peaceful and less crowded parts of the palace grounds. You will start walking towards the Grand Trianon through the park’s green paths. The Grand Trianon is quieter and has rooms with bright and colorful decorations. Kings and emperors, including Napoleon, used this area as their private place to stay.

From there, you will walk to the Petit Trianon. It is a small palace that was built for Madame de Pompadour and later loved by Marie Antoinette. This part of the visit gives you a glimpse into a simpler royal life, with small elegant rooms that are not as grand as the main palace but very charming. As you continue walking, you will come to the Queen’s Hamlet. This was Marie Antoinette’s favourite place, where she felt like a normal person away from royal duties. The Hamlet looks like a small village with little houses, a lake, and a farm. While you cannot go inside the houses, they are very pretty to look at from the outside. You will see the Temple of Love on the way, and if you go a little further, you will find the farm where Marie Antoinette took care of animals herself.

You will have free time here to walk around and take in the peaceful surroundings. When the day is over, you will return to the meeting point where the bus will be waiting to take you back to Paris. This full day at Versailles gives you a mix of history, nature, beauty, and peace. With the help of your guide and the use of headsets, you will not miss a single important detail. It is a perfect day to learn about the lives of kings and queens while enjoying a lovely walk through some of France’s most famous and magical places.
