After a relaxing drive with great views on the Romantic Road, this day trip takes you to one of the oldest and largest castle complexes in southern Germany, Harburg Castle in the Swabian district of Donau-Ries. This castle is the most well-preserved in Southern Germany. This castle was completed in the 11th century; it is teeming with history, with its thick walls and ancient towers giving you a glimpse into medieval life. You will have time to explore the castle grounds and learn about its history. As the journey continues, you will pass through Dinkelsbühl, a small but charming town known for its well-preserved medieval architecture. While the stop here is brief, it offers a taste of the region's history and culture.
Next, you will arrive in Rothenburg, the most perfectly preserved medieval town in Europe.
