Itinerary
Your adventure begins at the Mýrdalsjökull Base, where you will meet your experienced guide. After a warm welcome, you will be provided with all necessary gear and receive a comprehensive safety briefing. This ensures you are well-prepared for the journey ahead, ready to enjoy the thrill in a safe environment.
Set off on your quad bike and experience the unique sensation of riding along Iceland's famous black sand beaches. As you ride, marvel at the expansive ocean views and the striking contrast between the dark sand and the blue waves. The journey offers a perfect blend of adventure and scenic beauty. As you continue your ride, you will come across the southernmost point of Iceland, Dyrhólaey. This promontory offers stunning views of the ocean and the nearby Mýrdalsjökull glacier. The majestic glacier and the rugged coastline provide an awe-inspiring backdrop for your adventure.
Experience the true essence of off-roading as you navigate through small rivers and rugged landscapes. This part of the journey is filled with adrenaline-pumping moments as your quad bike tackles the challenging terrain. It is a perfect opportunity to embrace the wild, untamed beauty of Iceland. One of the highlights of the trip is the visit to the famous Sólheimasandur plane wreck. This iconic site offers a hauntingly beautiful view of a crashed DC-3 plane set against the stark Icelandic landscape. After exploring the plane wreck, you will head back to the base camp. The return journey offers a chance to reflect on the day's adventures and soak in the last views of the stunning landscapes. Please arrive 30 minutes prior to the departure time.
The minimum age required to take part in this tour is 8 years.
Travellers are advised to dress in comfortable and warm clothing.
Single riders and groups with odd numbers are required to book a single ride ATV.
All drivers must be 17 years of age or older and have a full, valid driver's license. A learner´s permit, tractor, or motorcycle license is not sufficient according to Icelandic law.
Disclaimer: Due to traffic issues, public holidays, weather conditions and unforeseen circumstances, there might be sudden changes in the route or in the schedule. Traffic congestion and road closures - may cause delays and changes to the route. We’ll do all we can to provide a smooth and frequent service! No refund will be offered for any changes or cancelations due to any unforeseen circumstances.
Cancellation Policy
- You must cancel your booking at least 24 hours before the start time of the activity/experience to get a complete refund.
- If you cancel your booking less than 24 hours before the start time of the activity/experience, you will not be reimbursed.
- Any modifications made less than 24 hours before the start time of the activity/experience will not be allowed.
- The cut-off times are determined by the activity/experience's local start time.
- This activity/experience is weather dependent. If it is cancelled due to inclement weather, you will be given an alternate date or a full refund.
