The Glacier Discovery tour adventure starts at the Sólheimajökull Base Camp, where you will meet your professional glacier guide. Here, you will be fitted with essential safety gear, including crampons for traction, an ice axe for stability, and a harness for additional security. Your guide will give a detailed briefing on how to use the equipment and go over important safety instructions to ensure a smooth and secure glacier walk.

Once you are prepared, the glacier walk begins. Follow your guide as you step onto the Sólheimajökull Glacier. Breathe in the fresh, crisp air and take in the vast, icy landscape. Know Before You Go

  • Wheelchair or stroller accesssible: No.

  • Please note that the minimum age required to take part in this tour is 10 years.
  • Please wear Hiking Boots on your travel day. You can also rent a pair at the base camp.
  • This tour is accessible for anyone in good health.
  • Please arrive 30 minutes before the tour departure to allow time for fitting equipment, crampons, and harnesses.
  • Crampons will be adjusted to each person's shoe size, so timely arrival is essential to ensure we are ready to depart on schedule.
  • The walk to the glacier takes about 20 minutes on an easy path. In the final minutes, the path narrows and becomes slightly steep, but it is manageable for most people.
  • Please inform your guide of any medical conditions in advance. A personal health assessment is essential before starting the glacier hike.
  • Disclaimer: Due to traffic issues, public holidays, weather conditions and unforeseen circumstances, there might be sudden changes in the route or in the schedule. Traffic congestion and road closures - may cause delays and changes to the route. We’ll do all we can to provide a smooth and frequent service! No refund will be offered for any changes or  cancelations due to any unforeseen circumstances.

Cancellation Policy

  • You must cancel your booking at least 24 hours before the start time of the activity/experience to get a complete refund.
  • If you cancel your booking less than 24 hours before the start time of the activity/experience, you will not be reimbursed.
  • Any modifications made less than 24 hours before the start time of the activity/experience will not be allowed.
  • The cut-off times are determined by the activity/experience's local start time.
  • This activity/experience is weather dependent. If it is cancelled due to inclement weather, you will be given an alternate date or a full refund.
