Itinerary

The Reykjanes peninsula is a UNESCO Global Geopark, located at the meeting point of the North American and Eurasian plates. The region offers unique landscapes featuring rugged coastlines, volcanic craters, lakes, and sweeping lava fields, showcasing Iceland's dramatic beauty. The adventure starts with a pickup in Reykjavík, offering breathtaking views of the area's exceptional international significance.

Visit Seltún, which is one of Iceland’s most iconic geothermal areas. It is a place where you can witness boiling springs, mud pools, and colorful, steaming ground. You can truly feel the raw power of nature right under your feet. Next, we will embark on a hike up Mount Langihryggur. The trail is about 3 km one way and takes around 2 hours. It is a well-maintained path leading to a viewpoint where you can see lava fields from volcanic eruptions in 2021, 2022, and 2023. With clear skies, you might even glimpse areas affected in 2024. The trail offers a clear view of the lava from the recent eruption by Mount Litli Hrútur. Visitors can safely follow the well-maintained paths to observe the aftermath of the eruption. The panoramic views are truly breathtaking.

We will visit another scenic spot, Strandarkirkja. It is a tiny church with a rich cultural history, standing alone in a beautiful, remote location—a perfect spot for a moment of tranquility. Next, we will stop at Heima Bistro, a charming local eatery where you can relax and enjoy delicious Icelandic cuisine. It is the perfect opportunity to taste local flavors and share your experiences with fellow travelers in a warm and welcoming setting.  It is the perfect way to refuel and reflect on the incredible experiences of the day. After a fulfilling day of adventure, the tour returns to Reykjavík.
