You will explore the renowned Bom Jesus do Monte Sanctuary, renowned for its grand staircase and tranquil gardens. Then, we head to the historic centre of Braga for a walking tour. You will see important places like the Sé de Braga, which is the oldest cathedral in Portugal. After learning about the city’s religious history and culture, you will have some free time to enjoy lunch and taste some traditional Portuguese food. This tour will also provide a cultural heritage experience and the discovery of 2 of the most historical Portuguese cities- Guimarães and Braga.

 

In the afternoon, the tour takes you to Guimarães, often called the ‘Cradle of the Nation’ because Portugal’s first king was born here. A guided walk will take you through Guimarães Castle Park, where you will see the medieval Guimarães Castle, the beautiful Paços dos Duques de Bragança (Ducal Palace), and the old Church of São Miguel do Castelo. These places will help you feel the strong history and pride of the Portuguese people. The walk is simple and full of interesting stories from the past. Get ready to experience the lush Portuguese landscapes of the countryside, full of green mountains, valleys, and rivers. With the Heritage tour, we will visit one of the country’s most treasured historic centers, including UNESCO World Heritage sites.

 

The tour ends at Largo da Oliveira, a lovely medieval square in the heart of Guimarães. This area is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site and is full of charm and history. Throughout this journey, immerse yourself in the natural beauty and centuries-old stories. After enjoying this last stop, we return to Porto with beautiful memories of Braga’s churches and Guimarães’ castles.
