Itinerary

Mateus Palace, or Casa de Mateus, is a historical Baroque palace in Vila Real, Portugal, renowned for its stunning architecture and extensive gardens. Start your day with a comfortable trip from Porto to the beautiful Casa de Mateus Foundation. It is one of the finest examples of Baroque in Portugal. As you arrive, you will see a grand Baroque manor house. This amazing place was designed by the famous Italian architect Nicolau Nasoni, who helped bring the Baroque style to Porto. With the help of a guide, you will explore the museum inside the house, where you can learn about the Mateus family and their important role in Portuguese culture.

As you walk around, you will enjoy the peaceful and beautiful gardens, full of flowers, trees, and charming paths. You will also step inside the old Chapel, a quiet and elegant place that holds stories from the past.
