Join us for a city tour of Riyadh, starting at the National Museum. This museum showcases Saudi heritage and tells the story of the Arabian Peninsula, from ancient times to today. It is a place to learn and discover, featuring a unique collection of artefacts. Next, we will visit the nearby Murrabba Palace. This palace was once the royal residence of King Abdulaziz, who hosted his court here. The palace is named for its square shape, measuring 40 by 40 meters. Now, it serves as one of the city’s important museums. We will take a brief tour of a modern building that displays King Abdulaziz’s personal items close to the palace. These sites are key to the history of the Saudi nation.

 

After exploring, we will enjoy a delicious lunch to prepare for the afternoon. Indulge yourself in a delightful lunch in the heart of Riyadh to savour authentic flavours. In the afternoon, we will go to the downtown area of old Riyadh. Here, we will visit the Dirah Souq, known for antique carpets and other traditional Saudi items. As we walk, you will feel the scent of sandalwood and different fragrances. The Souq is also famous for men’s clothing. You can watch the auction that happens every Friday. Our next stop will be the Masmak Fort, a short walk from the Souq. This fort is important in the history of the modern Saudi Kingdom. It was built in 1895 as a military garrison. In 1902, King Abdulaziz captured the fort, marking the start of his reconquest of Arabia. Today, the fortress is a museum and is a significant landmark of Saudi heritage.

 

From there we will head to the famous Kingdom Tower and its Sky Bridge to see Riyadh from a panoramic viewpoint nearly 300 meters above the city.
