Overview

Don't miss the opportunity to go with your guide to the Picasso Museum, one of Barcelona's reference museums, and bypass the line. Discover the background of Pablo Picasso, one of the 20th century's most significant artists. You may follow his creative development from his earliest pieces to his most recent ones by taking a tour of his body of work. See modern and contemporary artwork by well-known and up-and-coming artists when you visit the Moco Museum.

Itinerary

Would you like to learn about the creations of one of the most significant artists of the 20th century if you are an art enthusiast? Then you can pass on this guided tour of Barcelona's Picasso Museum. The Fossar de les Moreres will serve as the meeting place. We'll take a pleasant, quick stroll from there in the direction of the Picasso Museum.

The Picasso Museum was expanded throughout time, despite first being located in the "Palau Aguilar," a single building. Currently, it consists of five distinct palaces that were constructed in the 13th and 14th centuries.

Once we enter the Picasso Museum, we will find more about the artist's development from early life to death, as well as his time spent living in Barcelona from 1895 to 1904. As far as you may not know, the Picasso Museum was the first and only museum established while the artist was alive. It is the ideal location to learn about every aspect of the artist's biography and professional history. Enjoy the progression of his artistic style as you browse through his collection of over 3,500 pieces, which is the most comprehensive of his early works.
You will learn about Picasso's five main life periods—the blue, pink, cubist, neoclassical, and surrealist—through your guide's explanations.

We will visit the Moco Museum, which is next to the Picasso Museum, after our visit to the Picasso Museum. You will receive your entry tickets from your guide.

You can explore the Moco Museum alone, but if you'd want to learn everything there is to know about each piece, you can download an audio guide on your phone. There are pieces by well-known artists like Jean-Michele Basquiat, Banksy, Kaws, and Andy Warhol. Offering guests a distinctive art collection to contemplate contemporary society is the museum's concept.

Additionally, the Moco Museum experience starts the moment you walk through the doors of the Cervelló Palace, a historic building in the city that was home to aristocrats, merchants, and members of the royal family from the Middle Ages until the 20th century.
