It was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987. Once you enter the complex, begin with a detailed look at the cathedral’s exterior. The building was built on the site of the old Aljama Mosque. This site preserves Muslim elements such as the impressive Giralda, the old minaret, and the Patio de los Naranjos. The cathedral was built between 1401 and 1506, after the demolition of the mosque. The Cathedral of Seville has become the most important center of Christian worship in the city.
