Overview

Tired of the usual tourist spots in Edinburgh? The Edinburgh Dungeon offers a thrilling peek into the city's sinister history. The Edinburgh Dungeon is a cool, spooky place under the ground in the middle of Edinburgh, on Market Street. It tells about old scary events in a way that's both scary and fun, with people from the audience joining in, cool special effects, and actors acting out scenes. You start by going from the bright outside into the dark, spooky inside. The place feels exciting and a bit scary. Your journey begins with the 11 live shows that captivate your senses. Each performance, steeped in Scottish history, is a blend of horror and hilarity. Actors in detailed costumes transport you to a different era, making you part of the story.

Next, you go to a scary room where they pretended to find witches long ago. You will feel part of an old witch hunt, watching actors pretend to be scared and question people. Are you brave enough to meet the witchfinder? Then, you sneak into a cave where a scary family, the Bean Family, used to live. They pretended to eat people. You have to walk quietly so they do not "catch" you. It is really scary trying to get away from them in the dark. Afterward, you return to the 1600s when a big sickness spread in Edinburgh. You meet The Foul Clinger, who cleaned up after the illness, in a gross but interesting show about how tough life was back then. It makes you think about how hard it was to fight this sickness. Your last big test is to see if you can stay brave. Near the end, it gets even scarier. Actors jump out, and there is one last frightening ride. It is your chance to show you are not scared of these old Scottish horrors. Will you stay calm or scream out loud? When it is over, you go back outside, leaving the dark, spooky dungeon.
