Your guide will meet you at your hotel and take you to My Son, a fascinating site from the Champa Kingdom. Set in a lush valley surrounded by mountains, it’s one of the most beautiful places to visit in Central Vietnam, just 80 kilometers from Da Nang. Excavations at My Son revealed letters showing the complex was used for offerings and the worship of the Hindu god starting in the 4th century. In 1999, UNESCO recognized My Son as a World Heritage Site. The sanctuary is an extraordinary collection of architecture built over ten centuries, reflecting the spiritual and political life of the region. 
 
The temples were first made of wood but were destroyed by fire in the 6th century and rebuilt in the 7th century by Sambhuvarman using locally made bricks. By the 13th century, more than 70 temples had been built, establishing My Son as a central hub of Hindu worship in the Champa Kingdom.
