Itinerary
The Palace of Versailles served as the main home for the French kings from Louis XIV to Louis XVI. Across generations, architects, sculptors, decorators, and landscape architects worked on enhancing its beauty. For more than a century, it stood as a model for the perfect royal residence, setting a standard admired throughout Europe. The Palace of Versailles is a really, really big, and special place that the UNESCO people think is super important. It used to be where the kings of France, like Louis XIV, Louis XV, and Louis XVI, lived from 1682 to 1789.
This palace is like a giant mansion with more than 700 rooms! Imagine that! It is so huge, covering an area bigger than 700,000 square feet. Your guide, which is like a talking map, helps you explore and learn about the history of the palace. You can go at your own speed, which is cool. Inside, there are super fancy rooms. The King's Grand Apartment has seven rooms, and each one is all about a different god, like Apollo and Venus. The Queen's Grand Apartment is like a copy of the king's, with special rooms like the Coronation Room and the Queen's Bedroom, where Queen Marie Antoinette slept.
One of the most amazing rooms is the Hall of Mirrors. It is almost as long as a football field and was made to impress people. There are 17 windows and 350 mirrors, making it sparkle and shine. From here, you can also see the pretty gardens outside. The gardens are as important as the palace for the kings. Back in 1661, Louis XIV asked a gardener named André Le Nôtre to make them look awesome. So, when you are done exploring inside, take a stroll outside. There are over 200 statues, fountains, ponds, and flower beds. In the summer, they even make the fountains dance to music during "Grandes Eaux." That sounds like a fun party!
The whole place is like a giant museum. You can see beautiful decorations, fancy furniture made by really important artists, and lots of amazing art. It is like stepping back in time and seeing how the kings and queens lived. The careful architectural design and the grand arrangement of the landscape work together closely, creating a harmonious backdrop that complements the splendor of the interior decorations in the apartments.

Access to the palace is challenging for those with reduced mobility.
Photography without flash is permitted inside the palace.
Access to the Palace of Versailles is subject to constraints: security checks or unforeseen traffic can cause a waiting time.
For the smooth running of the tour and out of respect for all participants, please arrive at the meeting point 20 minutes before the start of the tour.
