Overview
The San Diego SEAL Tour sees you embarking on an amphibious sightseeing expedition, letting you enjoy the city’s major highlights. You travel first on solid ground and then on the water in a bus that doubles up as a boat for travelling around the city. This amphibious vehicle referred to as “Hydra Terra” is an extremely safe means of transportation, engineered exclusively for promoting tourism. The Hydra Terra meets all the safety parameters specified by the Department of Transportation and therefore has the US Coast Guard’s approval. The boat-cum-bus will take you on a comprehensive tour of the city, including an aquatic voyage on the Big Bay.

Itinerary
Have a whale of a time seeing the sights in one of the US West Coast’s top tourist destinations by opting for an amphibious excursion. When you choose a “San Diego SEAL Tour” you get the opportunity to soak in the majestic vistas of the city and the San Diego Bay. You take your seat in a specially designed amphibious vehicle –the “Hydra Terra” –that cruises on both land and water effortlessly.
Your San Diego SEAL tour gets underway from the Embarcadero or the Seaport Village situated at 625, W Harbor Dr. In the first part of the tour, the Hydra Terra drives you around the scenic streets, localities, and monuments of San Diego. Then the hybrid vehicle takes to water and glides smoothly, offering you picturesque 360° panoramas of the San Diego Bay.
As the amphibious vehicle traverses through the land, the popular landmarks and attractions of San Diego slowly and gradually come into view. You travel past the San Diego Military Bases including but not limited to Marine Corps Air Base Station MIRAMAR, Naval Base Coronado, and the US Coast Guard Station. The Hydra Terra also drives you past the Embarcadero, USS Midway Museum, Maritime Museum of San Diego, Point Loma, Shelter Islands, and San Diego International Airport.
As you journey along the charming Big Bay coast, you gain knowledge about the US Armed Forces and the contribution of San Diego Bay to the USAF. Thereafter the hybrid bus-boat descends into the Big Bay with a splash, gliding past Vacation Isle, SeaWorld San Diego, Quivira Basin, Shelter Island, and San Diego Bay. You just get carried away as the Terra Hydra cruises past the fishing vessels, hydrofoils, tugboats, and the US Navy’s aircraft carriers and warships.
Additionally, you come to know about voyagers, sailors, and mariners and the role played by Coast Guard, Space Force, Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps in protecting the US’s maritime boundaries. If you’re lucky you might be able to spot marine animals, including endangered species like the Blue Heron, and Californian Brown Pelican.
